Ll Sound (double L)

The digraph Ll has different pronunciations depending on the region:

  • Argentina and Uruguay: "sh" sound (as in "shoe") or "zh" sound (as in "measure")

⚠️ Important Rule: The Letter Z

The letter Z only combines with a, o, u

Valid combinations:

  • ✓ Za - zapato (shoe)
  • ✓ Zo - zona (zone)
  • ✓ Zu - zumo (juice)

Never exists: Ze, Zi in standard Spanish

Why? Spanish uses C (not Z) before e/i
